A Taste for Homes

NOTICE: Online ticket sales will close Sunday night (May 5th). But don't worry, both event and raffle tickets are available at the door!

Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County (HFHMC) is excited to host its 4th Annual "A Taste for Homes": a tasting of food, wine and cocktails at the Oyster Point Hotel on the Navesink River in Red Bank, New Jersey.

The evening will showcase local restaurants, wineries, and dessert specialists and will include entertainment, a 50/50 raffle and silent auction to celebrate the impact and difference volunteers and companies can make to provide people in our community with a decent place to live.

Last year's event proceeds helped us to build three new homes, dozens of wheelchair ramps, and make repairs to numerous homes in need for our hardworking partner families and seniors. Plans for 2019 again include the construction of three new affordable homes. We will continue to complete 'A Brush with Kindness' projects, help the elderly and disabled through our 'Ramps and Rails' program and develop volunteer leaders through our Youth and Women Build programs.

We are proud to announce our honorees for this year will be:

Corporate Citizen Awards:

Lowe's

Heilbrunn Pape, LLC

ReStore Champion Award:

Merola Tile

ReStore Service Award:

Gary Lespinasse

Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County hosted a home dedication of the family this past January. Their hard work and dedication is a testament to their desire to build a safe and stable environment for their young family.

When asked to define what "home" means to them, they responded, "For us a home means to live in peace and harmony. We are happy that a home allows us to live honestly and to be able to face the difficulties that present themselves in the best way possible." They also added that for their son, Nicholas, homes means "to have space to play with Charlie and help mom make banana bread."

Their home is still in progress but they are both filled with such thankfulness that it overflows: "We can't express enough of how much it means to us that we will be homeowners and have a home to raise baby Willens," Chrystelle said.

If you want to help build this home along side Chrystelle and Wilguens, please contact our volunteer coordinator at [email protected].
